Counselling Agreement

​Purpose of Counselling

Counselling at Serenity Sunrise offers a confidential, supportive space for you to explore personal challenges, emotions, and relationships. Our approach is integrative and humanistic, focusing on your unique experience and inner resources.

Confidentiality

All sessions are confidential, except in cases where:

  • There is a risk of serious harm to yourself or others.

  • Disclosure is required by law (e.g., terrorism, child protection).

  • You provide written consent to share information.

Your counsellor will aim to discuss any necessary breaches of confidentiality with you beforehand, unless urgent action is required.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

  • Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule.

  • Late cancellations may incur a fee.

  • Emergency cancellations will be considered with compassion.

Counsellor Commitment

Your counsellor is a qualified practitioner working in accordance with the BACP Ethical Framework. They will:

  • Treat you with respect, empathy, and without judgment.

  • Maintain professional boundaries.

  • Engage in regular supervision to ensure best practice.

Session Details

  • Duration: 50 minutes per session.

  • Frequency: Weekly or as agreed.

  • Location: In-person, telephone or online.

  • Fees: from £40 to £60 (Concessions for education and counselling students )

Data Protection

Your personal data will be handled in line with GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Session notes are kept securely and used only for therapeutic purposes.

Client Commitment

You agree to:

  • Attend sessions regularly and punctually.

  • Engage in the therapeutic process with openness and honesty.

  • Communicate any concerns or changes in your needs.

Respect and Boundaries

  • Serenity Sunrise is committed to providing a safe and respectful therapeutic space, and we ask that all communication remains appropriate and considerate.

  • In the rare event that a client behaves in an abusive, threatening, or inappropriate way, the counsellor may end the counselling agreement. This decision will be made carefully and, where possible, discussed with the client for clarity.
